The Wellness Groups
The Wellness Groups is a community non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, whose focus is to promote breast health awareness to the underserved African American women throughout Los Angeles County.
I am extremely passionate about this project because there are no known ways to prevent breast cancer, however, early detection through self-breast examination, clinical breast examination and mammography are three ways to reduce mortality.
As a seasoned beauty professional with 40 years of experience in the beauty and healthy lifestyle industry. I successfully operated SALON 21 for 23 years, SALON 21, was a hub for beauty professionals to work, learn, and thrive. We offered top-notch customer service and products, produced an 8-page newsletter, ran the "All You Can Be" campaign, and hosted a healthy lifestyle festival. Eventually, I decided to sell the business.
In 1994, I founded The Wellness Groups, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on breast and overall health. As the founding President, I ead the group in educating and empowering women about breast health awareness and healthy living, as well as organizing an annual breast and whole health awareness forum
I love beauty and wellness, with Mary Kay Cosmetics I have served as an Independent Advanced Skin Care Consultant for 20 years.
I have been highlighted by Black Sophisticated Hair, Modern Salon, and other industry publications as a foremost authority on hair care, wellness, and business solutions.
My passion for community service shines through my dedication. I have devoted my time, expertise, and talents to various causes, including the American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program, assisting women facing chemotherapy challenges; the Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County Affiliate's Circle of Promise campaign, which encourages African American women to prioritize breast health; and mentoring for the MOSTE program, which is focused on motivating students through experiences and nurturing future entrepreneurs. Presently, I am 34-year committed member of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, where I served as a past board member, continues to volunteer regularly, and is actively involved in various community and professional organizations.
I have received widespread recognition and honors for my unwavering dedication, leadership, creativity, and commitment to serving others. My accolades include awards from BMW, the Susan G.
