Sunday Assembly Sheffield
Sunday Assembly Sheffield is a secular congregation bringing people together for its own sake.
Showroom Cafe and Bar | 2nd Sunday of the Odd Months
We do this through song, socialising and some superb speakers. We are part of the wider Sunday Assembly movement which started in Jan 2013 down in London. With chapters across the world, we are part of an international effort to adhere to our motto:
LIVE BETTER | HELP OFTEN | WONDER MORE
We meet 6 times a year on the 2nd Sunday of the odd months but keep an eye out as occasionally, we have to make changes due to big events in Sheffield. (The half-marathon always catches us out!) We have attendees from all over South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire including Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield and Worksop and of course many from our home city.
We have had talks on AI, Olympic triathlon, robots, children's illustration, MRI, philosophy, food science and compassion. Our songs are mixture of classic pop and rock (and nobody can hear you whether you sing or not). And we always, always, always meet up afterwards in the bar for food and a coffee (or even a glass of wine if you're in the mood.
