Social Care Yorkshire
After 50 years of ongoing social care funding issues, we recognise that these challenges are unlikely to be resolved in the near future. Consequently, Social Care Yorkshire is charting a new course by focusing on the next generations of social care users and staff. While the affluent baby boomer generation possesses some assets to offset the costs of social care, the subsequent generations may not be as fortunate and must proactively plan for the possibility of requiring social care.
Our strategy at Social Care Yorkshire is:
Inform
Educate
Innovate
Target Groups are:
Ages 50-70: Many individuals in this age group may already be serving as unpaid carers and, in the coming years, are likely to engage with the social care
sector in various capacities, whether personally or for a family member.
Ages 35-50: For this demographic, it is crucial to begin planning, akin to pension planning, for future social care needs.
Ages 18-35: Our focus for this age group is on potential new entrants to the social care workforce. By identifying and developing the new skills required for these roles, we aim to elevate the profile of the sector and enhance future efficiencies.
Our approach includes emphasizing the importance of emotional and financial planning, such as the establishment of trusts and social care insurances, the utilisation of Power of Attorney, and understanding legal rights and recourse. Additionally, we recognize the need for practical skillset changes for care workers, especially with the integration of technology and AI.
We are committed to collaborating with key suppliers who are dedicated to making a positive impact and driving future changes alongside us.
