Simone Dawson: Pilot of the Flying Fluff
I’m thrilled to announce The Flying Fluff will attempt to take flight for the first time at the 2025 Moomba Festival Birdman Rally!
In honor of what would have been Jac’s 50th birthday this February, I’ve decided to do something a little crazy, but a whole lot of fun.
In 2023, Jac achieved something extraordinary—raising over $30,000 for charities, including Love Your Sister, while bravely battling stage IV metastatic breast cancer. Throughout her fight, she was deeply moved by the overwhelming support from her fundraising efforts. She often said it was “too much,” but in my heart, I knew it was the least we could do for her.
Sadly, Jac didn’t live to see the final donations, passing away in hospital just a month after her 48th birthday.

Love Your Sister supports precision treatment for ALL cancer patients, whatever the cancer, regardless of location, age, income, or status. They strive for the right treatment for every cancer patient, first time, every time. Living in regional Victoria, this ethos is particularly important to me and many of the supporters who live in Wonthaggi. They approach cancer with care, humour and dedication.
Will The Flying Fluff fly or flop? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure—it will be a celebration of Jac’s life, strength, and the love that will continue to surround her forever.
