Founded in Sydney in April 2024, Merge Dating offers real-life events as a fresh alternative to dating apps. Expanding across Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, Gosford and Wollongong, we create relaxed social settings where singles can connect naturally — no speed dating, no questionnaires, just genuine interactions. With life getting busier, we make dating simple: show up, grab a drink, meet new people and maybe find love.

Our friendly hosts facilitate light icebreakers to encourage natural mingling, and we maintain balanced gender ratios for a great experience. Events cater to a variety of singles, including different age groups, LGBTQ+ communities and themed nights. Merge Dating Code of Conduct + Terms & Conditions

1. Compliance and Consequences :

Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in guests being removed and permanently banned from all Merge Dating Singles Events.

2. Respectful Behaviour:

All guests are expected to treat others with respect and kindness. Merge Dating is a safe space for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, body size, religion, disability, identity, or sexual orientation. Any form of targeted abuse, harassment, violence, discriminatory or hate speech, or content towards other guests or staff will not be tolerated. Incidents should be reported to any Merge staff member present.

3. Age Requirements:

Attendees must be over 18 years old. Each event lists a specific age bracket (e.g. 30–40, 45–60, 50+). Guests must fall within the advertised range, with a maximum permissible deviation of 5 years on either side, unless the event listing specifies otherwise. Merge Dating reserves the right to refuse entry if you are outside this range. In such cases, your ticket may be transferred once to an event within the appropriate age range, but no refunds will be issued.

4. Deemed Acceptance

By purchasing or accepting a ticket, or by entering or attending a Merge Dating event in any capacity, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.

5. Personal Information:

Exercise caution when sharing personal information that could reveal your location, financial details, email address, or social media profiles. Protect your personal information until you establish trust with others.

6. Accurate Information:

Providing false or misleading private or personal information is prohibited. Violators will be removed from the event.

7. Illegal Activities:

Engaging in illegal activities at our events is strictly forbidden. Offenders will be removed and reported to the appropriate authorities.

8. Media Release:

By attending a Merge Dating Event, you waive any copyright or intellectual property rights to any photos, videos, recordings, or other multimedia captured. You acknowledge that you will not receive any payment or consideration for these materials. You release Merge Dating, its employees, and agents from any liability connected with the publication or use of these materials.

9. Behavioral Conduct:

If, in our reasonable opinion or that of our service providers, your behaviour poses a danger to yourself or others, causes damage to property, breaches any local laws, is abusive or threatening, creates a public nuisance, or violates venue or security instructions, Merge Dating reserves the right to cancel your booking without a refund and ban you from future events.

10. External Interactions Disclaimer

Merge Dating is not responsible for any interactions, relationships, or communications that occur outside the event. Participants engage at their own discretion and risk.

11. Personal Risk:

Participation in certain activities at our events may involve personal risk. By purchasing a ticket, you accept full responsibility for any damage, loss, or expense caused by you or anyone named on your booking.

12. Alcohol Consumption:

Guests may consume alcohol but must do so responsibly. Merge Dating accepts no liability for any injury, cost, expense, loss, or damage resulting from impaired judgment due to alcohol or drugs.

13. Drug Policy:

Merge Dating has a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs. Possession of illegal substances will result in removal from the event and possible notification of law enforcement.

14. Sexual Misconduct:

Merge Dating enforces a zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct. Any act of unwanted sexual behavior, harassment, or violation of another person's consent, will result in immediate removal from the event and potential reporting to authorities.

15. Responsibility for Interactions:

Merge Dating does not conduct background checks on attendees. However, if credible safety concerns are raised, Merge may review publicly available information and exercise its discretion to restrict attendance where appropriate.

16. Event Safety and Decision-Making:

The venue owners and Merge Dating representatives will make decisions based on safety and the well-being of guests. Merge Dating is not liable for any loss of enjoyment or similar claims due to changes made in the interests of safety.

17. Personal Belongings:

Guests are responsible for their own belongings. Merge Dating accepts no liability for the safety of personal possessions. While efforts will be made to locate lost property, there is no guarantee of recovery or return.

18. Accessibility:

Some venues may have stair access only — please check venue details or contact us before booking if you have accessibility needs

19. Future Contact Disclaimer:

By providing us with your email and phone number, you agree that we may contact you about future events and opportunities. If you'd prefer not to receive these updates, you can opt out at any time by letting us know.

20. Right to Ban:

Merge Dating reserves the right to ban attendees at its discretion. All decisions are final.

21. Safety & Refusal of Entry:

Merge Dating reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any individual where there is credible information indicating a risk to the safety or wellbeing of others — including, but not limited to, individuals who are subject to violence orders or have a history of serious misconduct. Hosts and Merge representatives may enforce this policy at their discretion to protect attendees.

22. Ticket Transfers & Drink Inclusion:

If you’re unable to attend your booked event, you may transfer your ticket to another Merge Dating event one time only.

Transferred tickets do not include a drink, even if the original ticket included one.

Drink inclusions do not carry over when a ticket is moved to a different event.

23. Ticket Purchases and Gender-Specific Events.

Guests must purchase the correct ticket for their gender as specified in the event description. If a guest purchases the incorrect ticket, Merge Dating reserves the right to refuse entry without a refund.
