Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG)
Established in 1990, the IWDG is a registered charity (CHY11163) and is ...."Dedicated to conservation and better understanding of whales, dolphins and porpoises in Irish waters, through study, education and interpreation". Your event host is Pádraig Whooley, who has 25 years experience delivering these IWDG weekends, which showcase the very best of Ireland's marine wildlife. Pádraig’s involvement with the IWDG goes back to the early 1990's, since then he has travelled extensively overseas to work with and observe cetaceans in the wild. Pádraig’s optics are now trained on waters closer to home, where he has been IWDG Sighting's Co-ordinator since 1998. He has been a strong advocate for sustainable Whale Watching in Ireland, writing extensively on the subject and is a regular media contributor on natural history in Ireland.
