IGDA Finland
What is IGDA Finland?
IGDA Finland is the local Finnish chapter of IGDA, the International Game Developers Association. IGDA is a non-profit professional society that is committed to advancing the careers and enhancing the lives of game developers by connecting members with their peers, promoting professional development, and advocating on issues that affect the developer community. In 2011 the Finnish Game Cluster (IGDA Finland, Neogames Finland and Pelinkehittäjät ry) received the Internationalization Award of the President of Finland. IGDA Finland has also been recognized as one of the most vibrant and fastest growing chapters by the IGDA when they awarded us with the IGDA MVP Award in 2007.
IGDA Finland promotes individual developers and does not represent Finnish game development companies. Many Finnish game companies are represented by Suomen Pelinkehittäjät Ry.
IGDA Finland is not a labor union.
Our Mission 2017
The mission of IGDA Finland is to promote the development of careers and professional skills of individual game developers (and individuals of related industries) based in Finland, and to further develop the international recognition of the Finnish game developer community.
The most important way for accomplishing the above is enabling the operation of local hubs.
