The Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance aims to transform democracies to become more inclusive and sensitive to good reasons. It is globally recognized for its research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and culture of mutual support.

The Centre runs the Deliberative Democracy Summer School and hosts a seminar series on deliberative democracy and related topics. It is also the home of the Journal of Deliberative Democracy.

As a research-intensive unit, the Centre has a strong track record of receiving and completing grants from the Australian Research Council. These grants include a Laureate Fellowship, a Federation Fellowship, Future Fellowship, Discovery Early Career Research Fellowship, six Discovery projects and two Linkage Projects.

The Centre is committed to action-based research in collaboration with industry partners. This involves the research, design and facilitation of public dialogues on important issues, including the Australian Citizens’ Parliament, the Global Citizens’ Assembly on Genome Editing, and Connecting to Parliament.
