Oregon Farm Corps
Oregon Farm Corps trains and equips the next generation of farmers and ranchers through hands-on educational programs and the preservation of farmland. OFC envisions a world in which land is deeply cared for, power is equitably shared, and farms, ranches, and the people who work them flourish.
OFC offers connections to paid farm Apprenticeships in Oregon as well as an educational event series for beginning farmers through our Farmer Training programs.
In our Future Farms programs, OFC provides business planning and technical assistance, supports research and resources towards collaborative farming projects, and helps beginning farmers seeking land and retiring farmers plan to pass on their land and business.
Oregon Farm Corps is committed to an ongoing learning process around privilege, power, inequality and systems of oppression. Throughout our programs, we will strive to approach our work through an equity lens and think critically about who has access to farming initiatives, programs and services, and who does not. RFC has a goal of making our programs welcoming to, inclusive of, and accessible to communities who are under-represented as farm operators in Oregon, including women, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, low-income individuals, immigrants, and those who have been impacted by the carceral system. Our desire to create a more equitable food system will be reflected in OFC’s strategic plan and programmatic work. All RFC employees, board members and Host Farmers are expected to continue their learning around privilege and oppression on both an individual and systemic level.
