Create tickets in Eventbrite's new recurring event experience

Eventbrite's new recurring event experience gives you the ability to create and customize your ticket types across your time slots. You can create ticket types that are available for your entire event or ones only available for a few time slots. You can even customize ticket prices, quantities, and more on specific time slots.

NOTE: This feature is only available for organizers in the United States or Canada. If you're not in the United States or Canada, follow these steps instead to update a recurring event.

  • Create and edit ticket types across all time slots

  • Limit a ticket to specific time slots

  • Edit a ticket type on specific time slot(s)

Create and edit ticket types across all time slots

1. Go to your recurring event overview.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events . Then select your event.

2. Go to "Add tickets."

3. Choose a ticket type to create.

There are three types of tickets:

  • Paid: The ticket costs a set amount.

  • Free: The ticket doesn’t cost anything.

  • Donation: The buyer determines the price of this ticket.

If you've already created at least one ticket type, select Add more tickets to create another ticket type.

4. Enter basic information for your ticket type.

  • Name: Name of the ticket type (like "General admission" or "Early bird").

  • +Add ticket description: Select this option to add additional information about this ticket type.

  • Price (paid tickets only): The price of your tickets. Select How do fees work to review your Ticketing Fees and taxes.

  • Absorb fees (paid and donation tickets only): By default, Ticketing Fees are paid by the attendee. Check this box to pay for the Ticketing Fees from your ticket sales instead, and attendees will only pay the price of the ticket. This setting is optional.

  • Quantity: The total number of tickets available for this ticket type per time slot.

  • Ticket visibility: Where buyers can view and register for this ticket type. By default, ticket types are viewable across each time slot, but you can update this so the ticket type is only available on certain time slots. If you make it hidden on all time slots, attendees will need a promo code to reveal it.

5. Optional: Update your advanced settings.

Select Advanced settings to customize your tickets further.

  • Ticket sales end: Update when your ticket sales end relative to their time slot. By default, ticket sales end one hour before their time slot begins. You can also hide the end sales date from the checkout.

  • Tickets per order: The minimum and maximum amount of this ticket type purchasers can buy at once.

  • Sales channel: Choose where attendees can buy this ticket type. If you change it to At the door only, these tickets are only available when you sell them with the Eventbrite Organizer app.

  • Ticket Delivery Method: Choose how attendees can receive their tickets. Attendees who choose eTicket will get the ticket on the Eventbrite app. If attendees choose Will Call, you'll need to print out tickets that they can pick up at the event.

6. Save your changes.

7. Customize your checkout.

From Add tickets, go to Settings. There, you can:

  • Publicly display the number of tickets remaining.

  • Change to a "registration" event instead of a "ticketed" event. This will update the way Eventbrite refers to your event. Free events always use registration language.

  • Enter a message to display after ticket sales end.

8. Optional: Make changes to your tickets across all time slots.

To update your tickets, go back to Add tickets. Select the three-dot icon next to your ticket type and choose from the following options:

  • Edit: change your ticket settings. Changing name or pricing settings will only apply to future sales.

  • Copy: create a new ticket type with the same settings.

  • Delete: remove the ticket type.

You won't be able to delete a ticket type after it has had any sales (even if they’ve been cancelled or refunded). If you need to prevent a sold ticket from being sold, consider changing the visibility to "Hidden on all dates and times." Tickets hidden this way are only accessible via a promotional code.

Limit a ticket to specific time slots

When you create and edit your tickets, you're able to limit them to specific time slots for your event.

1. Go to your recurring event overview.

Log in to your Eventbrite account and go to Events . Then select your event.

2. Go to "Add tickets."

3. Edit a existing ticket type or create a new one.

To edit an existing ticket type, select the three-dot icon. Then select Edit.

4. Change the "Ticket visibility" to "Custom dates and times."

5. Select "Customize."

6. Choose your first date and time slots.

First select a date, then choose the time slots you want this ticket to be available on for that date.

  • Select a date.

  • Choose the time slots you'd like to have this ticket for that date.

7. Select your preferred date range.

You have three options:

  • This date only: This ticket is only available for the date you selected.

  • All future dates with the same time slots: This ticket is available for any future time slot that includes the same times.

  • Set a date range: Choose a specific end day. This ticket type will be available on the selected time slots until the end of that day.

8. Select "Apply".

If you'd like to add this ticket to any more time slots, select Add more times. You may repeat this process as many times as you'd like.

9. Save your changes.

Edit a ticket type on specific time slot(s)

You can make some changes to your ticket that only apply to specific time slots.

1. Go to "Manage dates and times."

2. Select a date to view its time slots.

3. Select the time slot you'd like to update.

4. Update your ticket settings.

You can update the following settings:

  • Event capacity: the total number of available tickets across all ticket types on this time slot. If either your event capacity is reached, your event will be sold out (even if individual ticket types still have quantity available).

  • Ticket visibility: Select the checkbox to hide your ticket type or make it visible.

  • Price (paid tickets only): The price of your tickets. Other price settings, like whether you absorb fees, must be updated at the recurring event overview.

  • Quantity: The total number of tickets available for this ticket type per time slot.

  • Ticket sales start (under Advanced settings): Update when your ticket sales begin relative to their time slot. By default, tickets go on sale immediately.

  • Ticket sales end (under Advanced settings): Update when your ticket sales end relative to their time slot. By default, ticket sales end one hour before their time slot begins.

  • Tickets per order (under Advanced settings): The minimum and maximum amount of this ticket type purchasers can buy at once.

  • Sales channel (under Advanced settings): Choose where attendees can buy this ticket type. If you change it to "At the door only," these tickets are only available when you sell them with the Eventbrite Organizer app.

5. Optional: Apply your changes to multiple dates.

Select Apply changes to multiple dates, then select Next.

You have two options for applying these changes:

  • All future dates with the same time slots: These changes will apply to all future dates.

  • Custom range: You select a date range and day of the week to apply these changes to.

In either case, only time slots that begin at the same time are changed. Time slots that start at different times aren't affected, no matter what date they're on.

6. Save your changes.

If you make any further changes to your ticket types, be careful not to lose any important changes you need.

Any changes you make under Add tickets will apply to all time slots across your event. This may cause you to lose some changes you made to individual time slots.

If you need to make any further changes for individual time slots, start by going to Manage dates and times.
