With this body I remember, with this body I rewild is a slow, live ritual.
Artists Latai and Hanna Cormick dissolve notions of individual space, physical borders and time. Leading an exploration of inhabiting their ancestral stories with collaborators Elin Kåven and Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey.
Guided by the Peräniemi peninsula to remember beings from the depths of the Mōana/Pacific Ocean and Sápmi/Arctic Forest across digital live stream technology to connect us in Finland to Hanna in Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country Australia. Moving through a small forest surrounded by a lake on the edge of the city of Kuopio, we awaken our sensitivities to embody a place these artists have never walked before. Collectively, we practise a performance of the body that is oceanic, arctic, disabled and diaspora, belonging to complex ecosystems that require our active attention and participation.
Latai Taumoepeau is the 2022 winner of ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art. The prize and the performance at ANTI Festival are funded by the Saastamoinen Foundation.

With this body I remember, with this body I re-wild on on hidas, elävä rituaali. Taiteilijat Latai ja Hanna Cormick purkavat teoksessa käsitystä yksilöllisyyden tiloista, fyysisistä rajoista ja ajasta. He jatkavat esivanhempiensa tarinoiden asuttamista yhdessä työryhmän jäsenten Elin Kåvenin ja Madeleine Flynnin sekä Tim Humphreyn kanssa.
Peräniemeen rakentuva ja niemen ohjaama esitys muistuttaa Mōanan/Tyynenmeren ja Saamen/Arktisen metsän syvyyksissä elävistä olennoista ja yhdistää meidät digitaalisen suoratoistoteknologian kautta Suomessa Hannaan Ngunnawalissa ja Ngambriin Australiassa. Liikumme järven ympäröimän pienen metsän halki Kuopion kaupungin laidalla ja herätämme herkkyytemme ruumiillistumaan paikassa, jossa teoksen taiteilijat eivät ole koskaan ennen käyneet. Harjoittelemme yhdessä ruumiillistamaan valtamerellistä, arktista, vammaista ja diasporassa elävää kehoa, joka kuuluu näihin monimutkaisiin ekosysteemeihin, jotka vaativat aktiivista huomiotamme ja osallistumistamme.
Latai Taumoepeau on vuoden 2022 ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art -palkinnon voittaja. Palkinnon ja esityksen ANTI-festivaalilla rahoittaa Saastamoisen säätiö.
