About this event
Street Photo Walk
Street photography - what is it? And what makes a good street photograph?
Street photography is an integral part of the history of photography and is still eagerly practiced today by both professionals and hobbyists alike. During the Street Photo Walk, participants will be guided through the Helsinki city centre by street photographer Negin Hosseini, revealing secrets, tips and tricks of street photography. Negin Hosseini will discuss her photographic process, favourite places and routes and give advice on subjects, angles and juxtapositions. Participants will use their own devices (camera or phone) to take photographs, learn new ways of looking at familiar scenes and get inspired by their surroundings.
"We walk among entire universes every day. Capturing someone in a moment, existing in their universe and mine at the same time, is like making and documenting a connection that reminds us we’re not alone. When I take photos of people, I try to peek into their world - who are they, what are they feeling, what hopes and dreams do they have, what drives them?
Of course, I can only guess. But I feel the true beauty of street photography is acknowledging that everyone has a story as rich and unique as our own".
