Sig Drink Sling Berlin

Think you know flavour? Reckon you know exactly what makes a better than average beverage? Have you got a finger on the pulse (or more likely blend mode..) when it comes to mixing up new signature drinks?

On Tuesday July 8th, Oatly would like to invite you go head to head with the 10 best taste makers from your area in our very first Sig Drink Sling - hosted by our friends at We Roast Coffee - with the chance to go to a later national final. The ultimate winner of which will have the chance to serve their drink at Oatly’s stand at this year’s Frankfurt Coffee Festival.

So how’s this thing going to work? Glad you asked.

With a first-come-first-serve sign up, we’ll send a bunch of our products to you to start concocting your Drinkenstein’s monster; Barista, Barista lighter taste, Whipping cream & Bio cream. Make sure you add your address at sign up (or send it to daniel.higginson@oatly.com) so we know where to send it.

IMPORTANT FOR COMPETITORS:

This is where you come up with your winning entry. You’ll need to keep in mind 7 things:

• Drinks need to contain at least 1 Oatly product
• Drinks must be entirely plant-based
• Drinks must be non-alcoholic

Drinks will be judged on:

• Ease / Work friendly flow
• Taste
• Creativity
• Visual Presentation

Once you’ve got your recipe locked in, send us any and all allergen information for the ingredients you’ll want to use AND prepare a full litre ahead of the actual competition. You’ll see why soon.

The competition on the day will be split into two rounds.

First off, 10 competitors will take it in turns on stage for five minutes. They’ll walk us all through their drink and its preparation. Once all drinks have been shown, both the judges and the audience will get to choose a winner to go through to the next round with that pre-prepped litre we spoke about previously being passed around the peeping public (this is why we need the allergen information, we’ll make a little menu cards so we don’t accidentally poison anyone.)

In round two, the winners of the first round will go toe to toe in a freestyle. We’ll give them a mystery box with both: ingredients and tools. They will then simultaneously have 15 minutes to formulate a plan and 5 minutes to make their drinks.
