About this event

  • 3 hours

Poetry Slam is a competition in poetry. We're looking for 10 slammers to compete in English for the Poetry Oasis evening the 30th of May from 19-22 o'clock!
There will be 3 rounds in total and you can sign up as a performer via the QR code.

The rules are simple:

1. Originality

The text must be original and the performer must have ownership over it. It is allowed to quote and refer to things you have not written, but limited.

2. No props allowed

The performer must not use any props, instruments, costumes, or the like. You can't be naked either, even if that's what your poem is about.

(It is allowed to bring a paper with the poem on it. Memorization is not a requirement.)

3. The Judges decide

Five Judges will be randomly chosen in the audience. They will give points between 0.0 and 10. The three middle scores will be added together and will make up the final score for each performer. The five judges will change for each round. There are 3 rounds in total.

4. The time is ticking

If a Poetry slammer uses more than 3 minutes and 10 seconds on their performance, 0.5 points will be withdrawn from their final score for every additional 10 seconds they have started to go over this time.

See you the 30th of May for an evening of Poetry Slam, competition and fun at Kasvisravintola Keidas!

And remember - the points are not the point, the point is poetry!

The entry is free.
