Noumen ART - Imaginary Folklore: The Concert in memory of Mikhail Alperin

The event is held within the framework of XIV International Festival of Contemporary Experimental and Ethno-Avant-garde Art NOUMEN ART together with the National Center for Chamber Music

The event is held with the support of the Royal Embassy of Norway in Tbilisi

The musical work of the world-famous pianist and composer Mikhail (Misha) Alperin (1956-2018), to whose memory this concert is dedicated, is comparable only to the work of Sergei Parajanov in its collage imagery and ability to combine the incompatible

This is especially noticeable in the concept of “imaginary folklore”, where Alperin sought to combine traditional folk motifs with innovative jazz elements, creating a unique genre that goes beyond cultural and musical boundaries

Alperin’s legacy continues to inspire musicians and composers seeking to explore uncharted territories of sound and imagination
