Relocating to a new country is exciting and comes with different opportunities. However, settling in a country also comes with some challenges, in particular, your emotional readiness. Each person has their own reaction to moving. Some may become sad, happy, or sentimental. Others may experience decision fatigue.
My name is Elis Lin, I'm visual and socially-engaged artist focused on human connectedness and emotional wellbeing through artistic mediums. I want to accompany you on your journey to make Taipei your new home a bit easier and your emotional wellbeing taken care and nurtured through artistic approaches (drawing, music, body movement, mimic) and social interaction. During these 4-series workshops we will be discovering:
Every Tuesdays 9.30 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. Workshops will be held in English. (4-series workshop)
Week 1 May, 09: Warm-up, My Story Through Drawing, My Musical Body, Group Sharing
Week 2 May 16: Ice-breaker, Body Slow-Down, Extend Your Imagination, Body Conscious, Group Sharing
Week 3 May, 23: Warm-up, Silent-Dialogue, Bank of Compliment, Trust Walk, Group Sharing
Week 4, May 30: Dance-Balloon, Body Symphony, Mimic, Group Sharing
** NOTE: Please wear socks and long comfortable pants. Bring your own meals and a yoga mat. Ticket included space and materials. No art skills required. Workshops will be held in English. Nobody is perfect and no one should be. We will use simple and conversational English expressing your feelings and emotions. Nevertheless, we shall respect all kinds of self-reflective moments. Some may become quiet and paused, while others self-conflicted, touched, or emotional. We give time for everyone. Please respect.
About E L I S
I'm socially-engaged artist currently working in Taiwan and Finland. My practice is focused on emotional social well-being and human connectedness through artistic approach (drawing, body movement, music, non-verbal communication). The aim is to give an opportunity to let people reconnect humanely regardless of age and race, empower each other and diminish loneliness, social isolation and depression, regaining a sense of belonging. While medications cure patients, relationships and human connectedness nurture our emotional well-being. Prevention Rather Than Treatment.
Study Field: Therapeutic Arts (Germany), Art Intervention with Traumatized Children (Germany), Art Therapy (Germany), Introduction to Socially-engaged Arts (Finland), Arts and Dementia (Germany), Skills for Lerner's Conversation-centered (Finland). Master's of Digital Health (University of Applied Sciences, Finland).
