The game industry in Finland has an amazing culture of sharing.LGIN, Living Game Intelligence Network, is here to make it easy for us all to keep supporting each other. It is a network of game startups and volunteer mentors – seniors and experts from all around the industry. Our goal is to help young game companies take flight faster and less painfully.LGIN is completely free for the companies, and there are no strings attached. However, we do hope they’ll join the mentor pool in a couple of years. It’s all about giving back to the community.We are located in Helsinki, but most of our events are online. Teams need to be in Finland. For mentors, location doesn't matter.L﻿GINis a part ofMetropolia UAS'sTurbiinicampus incubation program.

Game Design Case Study: Disco ElysiumMuch has been said about the narrative brilliance of Disco Elysium - its excellent writing, bold themes, and thought-provoking world-building. But what about its mechanics? We'll explore what makes the story-telling of this award-winning roleplaying game tick from a systemic lens, and consider key elements which are often overlooked.Isaque Sanches is a game developer of Portuguese origin, born in Switzerland, and living in Finland. He has worked in games of various genres, platforms, and audiences (console AAA, PC indie, mobile F2P, XR, etc). He founded "notagamestudio" a small arthouse studio for experimental games, and co-founded A Ludoteca, a (now-disbanded) support community Portuguese game developers. In his parallel career as a creator of interactive performances and installations, he’s been focused on deconstructing the concept of “game” and exploring the relationships between people and systems; some of his work has been featured in museums and art exhibitions. He's a senior game designer at Ubisoft Redlynx, and before he was designing applied games for cognitive science research at Virtuleap.
