The <a href="https://www.forgenius.eu/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">FORGENIUS</a> project will host the second edition of its Public Webinars on 21 November at 10:00 CET. The aim of this series of events is to bring FORGENIUS topics and results to a wider audience.Project member Dr. Nassim Belmokhtar will talk about the advances obtained by FORGENIUS assessing the potential of Near Infrared Spectroscopy technology associated to chemometric approaches for the development of predictive models as part of the project’s work on high-throughput phenotyping. These accurate models can then be used to ensure an extensive phenotypic trait mapping on whole European forest GCUs.Dr. Matthew Robson will address how intensive phenotyping of ecophysiological traits allows for trait-based species distribution modelling. Moreover, understanding canopy-level light use efficiency and the traits that determine this according to light fluctuations in the canopy is the key to predicting how forests will respond to future changes in light conditions.We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar and sharing these experts’ perspectives!FORGENIUS is an H2020 project, funded by the EU that will give an insight into the diversity of European forests and their resilience to climate change.
