EFI 2022 Annual Conference

This year’s Annual Conference will be held in Barcelona, Spain on 5-7 October 2022. 

This year, in the morning of 5 October, we will have a Members ‘dialogue session where we will introduce our various Facilities located in Barcelona. Later representatives of the EFI member organisations take the formal Annual Conference decisions in the official decision-making session. In the late afternoon the Members’ dialogue session continues with Young Scientists Session on Climate Smart Forestry. The aim is to present the Climate-Smart Forestry concept, discuss how it relates to other forest management concepts and present the ongoing research of Young Scientists in this field in Europe.

On 8 October there will be a scientific seminar Biocities: placing nature and people at the centre of the urban environment. This seminar will facilitate an international science-policy-practice dialogue on the transformative potential of trees, forests, and wood (and other biomaterials) to rethink the build environment and create healthy, sustainable and resilient cities as well as rural-urban sustainable interfaces. The field trip will be organised to a beautiful Catalan cork forests on 7 October.
