Surraa Productions presents Contemporary Dance workshop with Ivy Tsui from Hong kong.  Through Zoom & for people who have danced before.

Surraa Productions is a Non-profit organization from Finland that is focus on dance without borders. Work that can bring people together to learn from each other through dance. Organization is fund in 2014 and for now their 6th working year 2020-2021 they are focusing on producing wokrshops in Online as well in Oulu, Finland for people who have danced before and want to learn more. With this Online series they will have workshops with teacher from overseas. This first workshop with overseas teacher will be held with a dance artist from Hong Kong Ivy Tsui.Contemporary dance workshopThrough Zoom!2th of August 2020 12.00-14.00 FI ( UTC +2) / 17.00-19.00 HKIvy Tsui will share her contemporary dance moves with you in her home in Hong Kong. She will focus on body awareness, space observations and improvisations. THEY ARE LIMITED!! More about Ivy: Ivy Tsui Yik-chit believes that everyone has an innate ability to dance. Through encounters and experimentation, by embracing the beauty of diversity and sharing stories in everyday settings, she aspires to use movement and dance to explore life and connect with the community.In 2018, her biographical piece QuanQuan (2012), which she has performed in cafe-bookstores and libraries in Estonia, Sweden, and Canada, was recognized as Pick of the Fringe at the Stockholm Fringe Awards. In the same year, her durational happening Used to Mud (2017) was presented at the Southbank Centre, London as part of the China Changing Festival.After receiving an Award for Young Artist (Dance) at the 2015 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards, Ivy was offered a number of creative opportunities. Her choreographic works include the Hong Kong Arts Festival and Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department commissions Water Lilies (2017), Morning Glory (2016), Dehydrated Flower (2015), Frangipani (2015), a floral series about the energy of life.In addition to taking part in Creative Meeting Point invited by Hong Kong West Kowloon Cultural District, Ivy has also participated in a few other exchange programs and research laboratories to further her never-ending process of building connections. ​Facebook: @danceivydance | Instagram: @danceivydance
