About this event
In Finland, being a labor union member is almost a default option — 75% of Finns are members of a union. But many foreigners do not know how unions can support them because unions have a different role in Finnish society than in their home countries.
Unions can be a great way to find support and career guidance, especially in a country where you're not native. They offer a range of services to their members—everything from legal representation to career counseling. They don’t only offer you legal advice if you've been unfairly laid-off, but they also have career coaches that can help you find a new job if you've lost yours.
That's why we invited @TedApter for our 'Ask me anything about Unions' to answer all of your pending questions when joining the unions. 🤩
Ted Apter currently works as a Special Advisor in Industrial Policy for Suomen Ekonomit, focusing on accelerating the Finnish economic growth. He supports international students to get hired more easily and organizations to have a more diverse recruitment system. Ted will answer all kinds of questions related to the unions and help you have a better understanding of their benefits.
