2nd annual conference "The Nordics and Latin America: Sustainable Mining"

Latnord organizes the 2nd annual conference "The Nordics and Latin America: Sustainable Mining".

The conference will be held at Luleå University of Technology, Auditorium B-192 (B-Huset), on October 15-16, 2025.

The topic of the conference is mining decarbonization technology developments by mining companies from Nordic and Latin American countries. The agenda includes:

1. Electrification of surface and underground mines
2. Green hydrogen initiatives in mining
3. Sustainability and circular economy

1. Aitik mine on October 14, 2025 (transport Luleå-Gällivare- Luleå included)
2. HYBRIT on October 13, 2025, the world's first pilot-scale plant using green hydrogen for iron ore reduction, a key development for fossil-free steel production worldwide. (transport from Luleå center included)
